Her operatic roles include Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia; First Lady in Magic Flute; Marcellina in Le Nozze Figaro for WNO; Boris in WNO’s newly commissioned work Katerina; Lisa in Das Land des Lachelus; Fiordiligi in Cos fan Tutee and Lady Billows in Britten’s Albert Herring for Opera de Bauge.
She has also played Belinda in Dido and Aeneas for Musica Rediviva in Rome and Fenena and Nabucco for the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 2000. Elsewhere she has performed Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro; Giorgetta in Il Tabarro; Tebaldo in Don Carlos; Abigaille in Nabucco and Anna Page in Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor.
Oratorio performances include Haydn’s Maria Thesea mass in Paris and Mozart’s Requiem. Also Verdi’s Te Deum at St David’s Hall, Cardiff and John Rutter’s Requiem performed under the baton of the composer. Other concert work has included performances at the Edinburgh and Glasgow Festivals, a concert performance of Cressida’s three arias from Walton’s Troillus and Cressida to mark the centenary of the composer’s birth, and Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate and Britten’s Les Illuminations.
Prizes awarded to Ros include the Sir Geraint Evans Scholarship, Rowland Jones Memorial Prize, Francis Willinger Memorial Scholarship and bursaries from the Patrons of Swansea Festival. She has performed in the Basilica in Cairo and also on S4C’s Musicale and with Dennis O’Neill on BBC’s Masterclass series.
Future engagements include performances with Jeff Howard under the guise of Humouresque; Layla in The Pearl Fishers and oratorio and recital programmes throughout Europe.
